Annabelle Gallon
ARTIST STATEMENT
I work from a personal photo archive. I comb through photos, placing and remembering. It all passes so quickly. The act of painting allows to sit within moments and stay.
I consider the space between two things. The long commute home, its placelessness. I fixate on the memory and how it returns to me. I struggle to remember at times, and when I do, it's unfamiliar and far. I watch over myself. Mouthing words to you from the longest distance.
