ARTIST STATEMENT
RE-VERB is a collaborative exploration of memory as a technological fever dream. It draws on the subconscious logic of dreams and fever dreams in particular, where disjointed objects, spaces, and sensations merge. Through ceramics, painting, and sculptural construction, we explore the distorting and reshaping nature that our contemporary digital perceptions carry in the everyday.
Like acoustic reverberations, the lingering resonance after an initial sound, our works hold echoes of the original. Photographs become unfamiliar textures, vessels shift into digital apparitions, and surfaces carry the aftereffects of the digital. “RE-” is not repetition, but cycling back, reframing and reinterpreting.
In this way, each work becomes a tactile reverberation of technology’s presence in the material world, lingering impressions that blur the boundaries between the physical and the virtual, between what is remembered and what is remade.
