City of Stirling Art Prize: Rick, 2023

The portrait Rick features my younger cousin Rick, an aspiring model and stylist. At a young age, he moved across the country to pursue his dreams. His fearless and determined nature inspires me and gives me the motivation and strength to pursue my own aspirations. While his classic model pose might suggest a closed-off demeanor, his face is softer and contemplative, exemplifying his quiet and thoughtful personality. The colour variation represents movement into a higher state of being as he recognises his dreams and potential, typifying his inner creativity and zest for life.
