COMMUNITY ART AWARDS FOR 2025

City of Gosnells, Community Art Exhibition and Awards

Musings

2024, acrylic and beading on canvas, 30 cm x 30 cm.

Musings is an exploration of the fluid nature of identity, captured through the dynamic interplay of acrylic paint and delicate beadwork. The swirling forms and bold, contrasting colours reflect the layers that shape who we are—complex, ever-evolving, and vibrant. The beading stitches moments of clarity into the chaos, symbolising how small, seemingly fragile experiences can define us in profound ways.

This piece celebrates the beauty found in multiplicity, embracing the idea that identity isn’t fixed but a mosaic of emotions, memories, and dreams. The rich greens, purples, and pinks pulse with life, reminding us that we are not meant to be understood at a glance—we are meant to be felt, to be seen, and to shine through every texture and shade that makes us whole.

City of Gosnells, Community Art Exhibition and Awards is open from the 17th of May - the 25th of May 2025. Click here for more info.

CAT HAVEN CHARITY ART AUCTION

Kittens Sleep in Strange Ways

2025, acrylic and beads on canvas, 25.5 x 25.5 cm

Kittens Sleep in Strange Ways captures the pure, unfiltered chaos of kitten naps. Inspired by my own cat’s contorted, sleeping poses as a kitten, this piece is a celebration of the charm, humour, and the endless joy our feline friends bring into our lives.

The Cat Haven raised $16,000 from this event, with every dollar raised going directly to the cats in their care, helping provide food, shelter, medical treatment, and love to those who need it most.

Our online auction is live HERE if you want to check out the other pieces!

Cat Haven Charity Art Auction was the 11th Apr 2025

KALAMUNDA ART AWARDS

Threads of Wax and Gold

2025, acrylic and beads on canvas, 25.5 cm x 25.5 cm

This work celebrates the beauty and resilience of Western Australian flora while reflecting my profound connection to place. The Geraldton Wax, with its delicate yet enduring blooms, and the Golden Wattle, symbolizing unity, vitality, and renewal, form the heart of a peaceful and contemplative piece that honours the natural environment.

Immersing myself in nature is a deeply grounding experience, allowing me to observe its intricate patterns, vibrant hues, and subtle fragrances. Through the use of beads and cotton string, I explore the interconnectedness of life, weaving a tactile representation of our bond with the natural world and our ability to find a sense of home within it.

The harmonious presence of the Geraldton Wax and Golden Wattle in their native landscapes inspires this work, inviting viewers to reconnect with the quiet beauty of nature and its grounding essence.

Kalamunda Art Awards was the 15th Mar - 6th Apr 2025
